AEDAS Homes, a leading residential developer in Spain, continues to be positioned among the top companies in the development sector worldwide in terms of its ESG policies and initiatives. The Spanish homebuilder has reaffirmed and improved on the “A” attained in its MSCI ESG Rating, which measures a company's resilience to long-term, financially relevant ESG risks. This rating, which is a fundamental indicator used by the international investor committee, underscores the work that AEDAS Homes does within the framework of its ESG Strategic Plan.
In the latest report issued by MSCI (May 2024), AEDAS Homes attained an industry-adjusted score of 6.2 points, posting a year-on-year overall improvement of four-tenths of a point and thus further consolidating its “A” rating. Considering the weight of the three key pillars (Environmental, Social, and Governance) that make up MSCI’s weighted-average key issue score, the developer attained a score of 5.3, surpassing the industry average of 4.9 points.

With regard to the three key pillars of the AEDAS Homes ESG strategy, the company excels in Governance, where it is positioned in the “highest scoring range relative to global peers” for its good corporate governance practices. Additionally, in terms of the Environmental pillar, the report highlights the company's in-house Ecoliving® sustainability seal, which guarantees its developments are environmentally respectful and demonstrates the company’s “[engagement] with customers to promote energy conservation”. In this pillar, AEDAS Homes has posted a year-on-year improvement of seven-tenths. Furthermore, the company has also improved in aspects of the Social pillar, such as occupational health and safety at work (more than one full point) and product quality (four-tenths of a point).

A new ESG roadmap for the next three years
MSCI’s international validation of AEDAS Homes' ESG policies and initiatives coincides with the Spanish homebuilder’s successful completion of its 2021-2023 ESG Strategic Plan and the launch of its 2024-2026 ESG Strategic Plan. This new ESG roadmap now includes nine lines of action—after the addition of Circular Economy—and 31 specific and measurable actions linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to build a more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable world.
